This lovely specimen is from an autograph book that dates from the 1870s in Toronto. A young woman by the name of Emma Lamb had her friends write comments and poems in a book that she lovingly adorned with some colourful stickers. The autograph book appears to be the equivalent of our modern blogs. There's nothing new under the sun it seems.  Posted by Hello

Bored Again

I just got out of the pub. We fled in fear because the talking lamp was babbling away in several corners, and we had each finished eating a chicken club sandwich and washed it down with a pint of fine Canadian beer.

The pub was a pretty good deal except for the talking lamp part. Nick dislikes the TV as much as I do, and Sass didn't want to watch because she would be "traumatized" by seeing an episode out of order. Geez.

Now that we're safely out of the pub, we are either staring at a computer konsole or a video game. Good thinking. I was compelled to muse about how humans think moths are pretty weird for banging their tiny noggins against anything that is brightly lit. We think we're so superior, and yet we can't look away from our televisions or monitors. At least we're not banging our heads.
