Spring Is Sprung
It's April in Toronto, and a young man's fancy turns to Shaving His Head and getting FREAKY! It used be love, but this is the twenty first century bubba. Get over love and get into freakiness.
I'm doing things differently these days. I have transformed my life from being a corporate oriented computer geek to being a freelancing computer geek. I have decided that I'm coming first for a while. If I don't feel like working. I don't. If I want to take a pilates class in the middle of the day, I do. I have gone from driving a car 7 days a week to driving mostly for pleasure and occasionally for business. The greenhouse gases are a lot less. I used to have two cars burning about 3000 to 4000 liters of gas each per annum. Now, it's one car burning 1500 liters. I figure I'm winning the one ton challenge. I'm a lot less stressed thanks to using public transit and my own two feet.
I have started writing songs, and playing the hell out of my sax. I've got a new found desire to play music and do everything I can to improve my craft. I actually get around to reading books instead of just purchasing them and then putting them on a shelf.
I can't help but think about the consequences of my previous behaviour. I was pretty miserable, and pretty much guaranteed to piss off everyone. The only ones who stuck by me were my close friends but even they were pretty irritated. I have survived a period of intense self examination and managed to change some things for the better. Now if I could only finish losing another ten pounds or so, and change my wardrobe.
It sure is fun being freaky again.
